Graduate/APC Level Building Surveyor

Overview:
We are seeking a degree-qualified Building Surveyor who is eager to embark on their APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) process with the aim of becoming a Chartered Surveyor. The role primarily involves a combination of professional and project-based building surveying work, focusing on both commercial and some residential properties, with a predominant emphasis on commercial projects.

Responsibilities:

Inspections and Report Writing:
Assist Building Surveyors with property inspections.
Collaborate in the preparation of comprehensive inspection reports.
Dilapidation Inspections and Negotiations:
Support Building Surveyors in conducting dilapidation inspections.
Assist in negotiations related to dilapidation issues.
Repair and Refurbishment Contracts:
Assist in preparing specifications for repair and refurbishment contracts.
Administer repair and refurbishment contracts.
Planned Preventative Maintenance Plans:
Collaborate in the preparation of planned preventative maintenance plans.
Building Reinstatement Cost Assessments:
Assist in undertaking assessments for building reinstatement costs.
Defect Inspection:
Participate in defect inspections and reporting.
CDM Information:
Assist in compiling CDM (Construction, Design, and Management) information.
Party Wall Surveying:
Undertake Party Wall Surveying duties.
Condition Schedules:
Prepare and maintain condition schedules.
Additional Tasks:
Assist with co-ordination instructions and other duties as required, including fee quoting.
Requirements:

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Possession of a valid driving license.
Teamwork and independent work capabilities.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated.
Strong verbal and numerical skills with comfort in report writing.
Willingness to pursue MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) with a structured training program.
CAD experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Salary & Package:

Annual Salary: £26,000 to £32,000 (Subject to Experience).

25 Days Holiday, plus Bank Holidays.
Discretionary Annual Bonus.
APC and RICS membership fees covered.
APC training and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) expenses covered.
Allocation of Supervisor and Counsellor for APC.
Working hours: 9 am to 5.30 pm, 38.75 hours per week.
Probation Period: 6 months.
Work-related travel and out-of-pocket expenses covered.
Season Ticket Loan.
